​​A point of interest (POI) is an important location that you can save and navigate later to. Create POIs  on  your  Suunto 9 by saving your current location, or add them in the Suunto app and sync them to your watch. When navigating towards a POI, you can see the direction and distance to the location. If you need to, you can easily switch between POI and route navigation when you're on the go.

Turn-by-turn navigation​

​Never take a wrong turn again with turn-by-turn navigation alerts. Plan your route on Komoot’s desktop or mobile app and sync it with your Suunto 9 to get started. Four predefined battery modes – Performance, Endurance, Ultra and Tour – deliver from 25 hours to up to 170 hours* of recording time with GPS tracking on. When you start a recording, you’ll get an estimate of how much battery you have left with the current mode. If it’s not enough, switch to another mode at any time.

Suunto 9 uses smart reminders based on your activity history, to help ensure you are fully charged for your next outing. If the watch notices you are running low on battery during an exercise, it will automatically suggest changing to a different battery mode.

*Your actual battery life may vary depending on usage and conditions. If you enable the Ultra battery mode it will increase battery life, but deactivate wrist heart rate tracking. Tour battery mode gives you the longest battery life with lower GPS quality. In Endurance battery mode, battery life is 40 hours with wrist heart rate and 50 hours with HR belt. Touch is disabled during exercise, but you can activate it in your custom mode.
