Latest information on SUUNTO's GPS watch "AMBIT series"

Suunto Connected Family with Ambit3 , released last fall , is the latest and greatest GPS model from Suunto that allows you to record your sports and adventure experiences, check the data on the spot, and share it. The Suunto GPS watch "AMBIT3 series" has been further enhanced with the addition of the AMBIT3RUN, developed specifically for runners, and the popular multi-sport model AMBIT3SPORT, as well as the colorful heart rate belt "Smart Belt". This spring, new features will be added to all AMBIT3 series. The training plan and recovery analysis functions have been enhanced.

AMBIT3RUN is a GPS watch for runners that not only offers great functionality, but also provides a good fit with its well-balanced and soft materials. AMBIT3RUN promises to be a great partner, coach, and guide for efficient training.

Plan your training and track your recovery

Suunto Ambit3 Run allows you to plan your training in detail and record your training data using the Suunto Movescount App . Now, you can also use voice guidance (currently only available in English). Set the duration and intensity and start your workout. When used in conjunction with the Movescount App, an audio coach guides you through your workout. The workout planner will be available for the Ambit3 series after a software update in March 2015.

In addition, the 2.0 software update scheduled for April will allow users to get to know their own bodies better by comparing their running performance with the average for the past 30 days, using the "Quick Recovery Test" to help them recover from physical fatigue as quickly as possible, and the "Sleep Recovery Test" to tell them how well their body has recovered from sufficient sleep. 

AMBIT3RUN is equipped with a high-precision GPS chip that provides accurate location information. With signal reception with minimal error, you can move along a smooth route. 

Follow your friends using Suunto Movescount App

The popular Suunto Movescount App can be used with your Suunto watch for even more benefits. New features of the app, available with a software update this spring, include the ability to follow your friends' moves and share your own moves with them. The app allows you to configure your AMBIT3 series, store and manage your moves, and share your moves via social media. In addition, by linking it with your smartphone, you can receive notifications for incoming calls and emails. No need to stop and check who is calling while running. Or create a Suunto Movie to convert your route into a playable video file. The app is currently available for iPhone/iPad users, but will be available for Android in April and will be compatible with Android 5.0, 4.4 and 4.3.

Suunto has also partnered with TrainingPeaks . You can now upload your Moves to Movescount and then seamlessly sync them with TrainingPeaks, which provides advanced training advice for endurance athletes.

New colors for Suunto Ambit3 Sport and smart belt

The Suunto Ambit3 Sport GPS watch is now available in a new coral color. The Suunto Ambit3 Sport has all the features you need for running, swimming, cycling and multisport training.

The Suunto Smart Sensor belt also comes in new colors: lime , blue and coral . The black version is available in three sizes: S, M and L. The Smart Sensor records and stores your heart rate and transfers the data wirelessly to your Ambit3 or the Suunto Movescount App on your smartphone.

For example, you can record your heart rate even in sports where radio waves cannot be exchanged between the watch and the heart rate belt, such as open water swimming. If you wear the belt, you do not need to have the watch or smartphone at hand. After the workout, the heart rate data is wirelessly transferred to the watch or smartphone (supported in the March update). The Smart Sensor is fully compatible with swimming. SALOMON Movesense ^TM T-shirts, bras, and other sportswear that can be worn are also available (not yet available in Japan).

The SUUNTO AMBIT3 RUN will be available at authorized Suunto dealers nationwide from March 20th for 39,000 yen (without heart rate belt) and 45,000 yen (with heart rate belt). The new coral color, the SUUNTO AMBIT3 SPORT Coral, and the colorful smart belt will also be available on March 20th.

The Suunto Movescount App for Android will be available from April.
